Editorial Review of
San Diego Civic Center
San Diego Civic Center is a part of San Diego Theatres which is a non-profit corporation designed for public benefit. San Diego Theatres are publicly owned performing arts theatres that include the Civic Center and the historic Balboa Theatre. The purpose of the nonprofit is to optimistically impact the community of San Diego through the downtown theatre district. San Diego Theatres originated in 2003 by the Convention Center Corporation which the future hopefully produces the theatres to be independent entities one day. The Civic Center has three thousand seats which make the theatre the region’s largest performing arts venue. The Civic Theatre has a wide range of performances including: contemporary music, broadway performances, dance and opera. The theatre has also served for inaugurations and corporate meetings.
