Listing Details: PowPAC is Poway’s Performing Arts Company, Poway’s community theatre. The theatre has contributed greatly to the diversity of Poway, as well as the community’s interest in the performing arts. Historically, the city needed to raise funds for a paramedic program through the cities Fire Department. In order to raise the money, the residents pulled together and performed a vaudeville show and the performing has continued ever since. PowPAC offers a wide range of theatrical performances, everything from comedies such as Cactus Flower to traditional entertainment like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The theater also produces mysteries and musicals. The community is extremely important to the theatre. PowPAC has set up a scholarship fund for drama students from Poway’s three high schools. The theatre also contributed to establish a new center for the performing arts.

PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theater, is Poway's only Community Theatre. Established in 1981, PowPAC is located in the heart of Poway on the second floor of the Lively Center at 13250 Poway Road. The company is an independent, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization, with no affiliation or support from any external body. PowPAC’s MISSION is to create theatrical experiences of the highest standards within the community theater environment; to produce and present works ensuring diverse and balanced programming; to provide an environment for the growth and education of the artist, the audience and the community at large; to expand our audiences; to engage our audiences; and above all else, to entertain our audiences. Now celebrating its 30th season, PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theater, continues to present high quality shows that delight, amuse, fascinate and entertain. PowPAC is a proud member of ACT San Diego.
