Listing Details: The Philippine Performing Arts Company has four major components: Senior Company, Junior Dancers, Rondalla/Percussion Instrumentalists and Harana Singers. The Senior Company presents traditional Philippine dance techniques and styles. The performers and directors try to keep everything as traditional as possible from the costumes to the music, everything represents the Philippines. The company has performed thirty five seasons of cultural enrichment for San Diego. There are fifty performances annually by the sixty member companies that are involved with the performing arts center. The Philippine performers take their productions on the road throughout California. They have performed at schools such as the University of California, San Diego, San Diego State University, University of Riverside and the University of California Santa Cruz. In 2002 the performers had the honor of performing at the Cultural Center of the Philippines alongside the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company. The performers consist of twenty five dancers and eight musicians that are fully committed to promoting the Philippine dance and music.
