Listing Details: New Village Arts Theatre is a growing acclaimed theatre in North Country San Diego. In 2001 graduates from New York’s Actors Studio Drama School founded the theatre and ignited the theatres first season of production. The New Village Arts is in existence solely by the power and passion of all artists. The theatre wants to share human experiences through the action of performance art. In the early years of the theatre, New Village Arts held productions in the Studio Space at Jazzercise, Inc. The present locations of the performances are now held in one of the oldest buildings in the Carlsbad Village. The theatre seating is limited to ninety nine seats, but the audience is guaranteed an intense, intimate experience through the live theatre performance. Not only does the New Village Arts Theatre offer regular performances, there are also educational options in acting classes as well. The theatre offers Meisner Acting Classes, Summer Teen Improv and Shakespeare Classes and Kids Act Classes for all ages. The Carlsbad community is very open and receptive to all forms of artistic expression, and it is show in the New Village Arts Theatre.

Added 08/25/11 Great theater!

If you know theater or just getting to know theater NVA works! Great mix of recognizable productions as well as lesser or more on the edge pieces. Every production I've seen has amazing set design, actors and direction that allows just the right observation.

Added 04/20/11 Lots of good reasons to come here

I have been here for both lessons and performances and love it every time. Everyone associated with this place is incredibly friendly. While I am certainly no professional actress, classes can be fun to just try something new.
