The company plays on the imaginations of the audience through the usage of Shakespeare’s words and imagery. The theatre has been awarded many good reviews from a variety of local San Diego papers and magazines. The theatre also has an educational part to the company; “Shakespeare for a New Generation” is the company’s summer educational tour. The performers tour around different areas and perform a version of a Shakespeare play. At the conclusion of the performance, the students and actors have a question and discussion session to help the kids understand word analysis, the art of acting and the strong vocabulary comprehension. The setting of their performances is very intimate and personal. The goal of the Intrepid Shakespeare Company is to show the passion and beauty of Shakespeare’s work, and to have the audience rise to the same level of understanding as the actors.
