The foundations mission is to develop a strong sense of community support for the Carlsbad Community Arts Center and its activities. The arts center is set up to foster artistic growth in the community by encouraging performance art. The Carlsbad Community theatre has a strong direction toward children and the local youth. The theatre puts on classic plays such as Shakespeare’s As You Like It as well as continual workshops aimed at teaching and perfecting amateur performing art skills. The workshops are for children of all ages over six. The theatre has an annual full-scale workshop production in October, as well as a full-scale youth production held in February.
