The original debut of the broadway playgoers was in 1976 at the Spreckels theatre. They then found a permanent theatre home at the San Diego Civic Theatre in 1986. Broadway San Diego has two theatres that are used for performances; the San Diego Civic center and the Balboa Theatre. The Civic Theatre is the larger of the two, with multiple levels of stadium seating.
