The original debut of the broadway playgoers was in 1976 at the Spreckels theatre. They then found a permanent theatre home at the San Diego Civic Theatre in 1986. Broadway San Diego has produced over three hundred and three events including famous works such as The Phantom Of The Opera and The Producers. Broadway San Diego has two theatres that are used for performances; the San Diego Civic center and the Balboa Theatre. The Civic Theatre is the larger of the two, with multiple levels of stadium seating.
