Listing Details: The Borrego Springs Movie Theatre was morphed into what is now Performing Arts Center in 1991 with the intention of producing Way-Off Broadway Productions. The center has seating for 181 people and has been a favorite hideaway to the stars. Bing Crosby, Raymond Burr and Clark Gable were just a few who called this scenic dessert stage setting a secrete relief from the bright lights of Hollywood. Borrego had a long history with Film and thus the performing arts movement followed in a natural form. The actual theatre itself is very intimate, movie theatre seating. The Borrego Springs Performing Art Center is dedicated to inspiring youth toward passions for the performing arts. They have specific youth performed shows throughout the year. The center has an annual Season Opening Gala as well as a versatile performance list; there are symphonies, plays and ballets that are performed on their stage. Similar to other Performing Art Centers, Borrego Springs holds fundraisers including wine-tasting to help raise donations for the theatre.
