Being new to the area and having previously frequented Aveda Salons in Florida; I booked an appointment with this salon. When I called I asked for a price range for a cut and color for short hair and was told that it would be around $120. My hair is barely 3 inches long. During the color consultation I had to beg for color swatches because I was told that they are of no use since it is on white nylon hair and would not come out the same. Never in my life have I ever been to an Aveda salon that did not show me their colors and give me a tour of the shop. I only received a small sampling to review and was told that I would need to rely on her to interpret my desired results. I sat in a chair for 1 hour processing and was ignored while she worked on her other clients; never once did she come over to check on processing. Then came the haircut; she used thinning scissors for approximately 5 minutes and passed a blow dryer over my head without a brush whilst hair color was on my skin above my eyebrows which she had applied color to but never removed the excess color from my skin. I was told that if I wanted my hair shorter to come back on Tuesday and she would cut it for me free of charge. When I checked out they told me the cost of services was $185. Today, I looked at the receipt and the charge was for a color and hightlight; a highlight which I did not receive! I immediately called the salon; they had the absolute nerve to call back and tell me that it was $100 for color and $70 for a Haircut with thinning shears that took 5 minutes! Trust me stay away from these Thieves that think they can get away with outrageous prices because they are located in Del Mar!!!!!!!!!!!!!
