Disconnected

"Awesome", in fact, is too mild a word to describe how great Disconnected really is. I had my hair done here last week, and I was blown away by everything about it, The cool hip vibe, the great atmosphere, the talented, friendly and absolutely beautiful stylists, and that out-of-this world head massage that me drool, literally. I’m never going to any other hair salon again.

I bought a bottle of Davines shampoo from here. There were no prices listed on the bottle. It was $29.00. I have bought this product on the internet for $17.00. Their prices are horrible. Get the same product online or somewhere else.

After years of overprocessing my hair and using damaging extensions, I needed some serious hair repair. I called and was immediately accommodated with an appointment with Neil, the owner. From the moment I walked in the door I felt... COOL. The entire staff is funky, friendly, funny, and they cater to your every need without being pushy. The decor is modern, edgy, and inspired. The music wasn't blaring but could have been because the punk/alt rock fusion playing was really quality sound. I was nervous about my damaged hair but Neil made me feel comforted and I trusted him from the get go. I basically said, 'do whatever, I'd like a big change, something really unique that I can own... but also something that I can wear to the office and meetings without creating a stir." He got right to work, kept me informed during the process, and kept me laughing (even though I had decided to quit smoking that day and was miserable!) The shampooing was the best head massage I have ever experienced. That, alone, is reason to RUN to this salon. My hair was first a shock but looked SOOO much better. Neil is a color genius. My boyfriend also got a cut that day and both of us came out looking and feeling sexy, hip, and appropriate. The costs for the work and the experience were totally reasonable in my opinion, if not low. The products were pricey but worth every penny. Neil gave great instructions on what to use and how to make the products last. WOW. I can't wait until my next appointment. HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone.

I agree about their prices. They really overcharge for the products. Then again, they really make you feel like you're getting a unique experience. I went to get a haircut and they sat me at the bar - yeah, a bar in a salon - and gave me some weird tea. I gotta say, Disconnected hosts a chill environment. In fact, last time I was in North Park at like 9pm and they were throwing a party in the salon or something. All these "hip" people were standing around chilling and talking and drinking and skateboarding...you get the picture.

I have referred many of my friends and will continue to.

Alright, so like most guys we are all about what barber shop can give us nicest "ok" shave for the least amount of money...i've never been to a "salon" of any kind to get my hair done but I had an audition coming up adn wanted to do something to me hair I knew the corner barbershop shop couldn't do, so I checked out this place based on the large amount of reviews I saw on this site and yelp.com...most were good, some not so good, but hey its business, no one is perfect, and main thing they did my hair right.
