I've kinda avoided tanning salons because tanning beds are pretty sketchy and you never know who was lying there before you. Someone from work told me about Hollywood Tans, and their standing booths so I stopped by to check it out. The interior is amazing, with bright lights and clean, sanitary booths. I got a 10-minute tan and got a decent base tan, and after going back for the rest of my sessions I now have a great, but subtle color.

Honestly, I’m not the type of guy to hit the tanning salon, but I did want to show off a little west-coast tan when I headed back east for my sister’s wedding. I’m the type of person with who has pretty sensitive skin and is definitely not used to baking in the sun all day, but I just wanted a tan that was a few shades darker than what I had to show everyone that I did absorb some SoCal sun. For a week I did the 10-minute tan, and as a first-timer found the results pretty satisfying and natural-looking. My fair skin was actually bronzed-up a little—not bright tomato red like it usually is. I saw great results in instant time. Not to mention, I didn’t feel awkward at all being in a guy in tanning salon—and actually felt a little relaxed and comfortable being there with the friendly service. A definite recommend to first-timer guys.

I went to Hollywood Tans last weekend for a change of salons, and I was surprised that it was cheaper than the previous places I went to. I got a $20 tan for $17 and the results were just as good, if not better. I am really picky about color, and I was able to get the perfect tone here.
