Mira Mesa Hollywood Tans

My sister was visiting from Seattle and I noticed that she needed a little color in her skin before I could take her to the beach so we researched a couple of tanning salons in the area and found Hollywood Tans in Mira Mesa, which is pretty close to where I live so I decided to take her there. There's a really cool application on their site where you answer questions about your skin color, desired tan color, and even your hair color so that you get a tan that meets all your specifications. I took my sister in and she got the mystic tan and I opted for the 8-minute tan. The best part were the standing booths as opposed to the normal tanning beds where you have to fret about sanitation and all that. My sister's color is so rich and she fits right in with the rest of us So-cal locals...She's now ready for the beach!

My biggest pet peeve has got to be going home for break in NorCal and hearing my friends say, “Where’s your San Diego tan?” I mean, students barely have enough time in the day to sleep—let alone get out and tan at the beach? Before heading home for winter break I prepared and went to the closest Hollywood Tans after hearing about their great, customized mystic bronzers that give the best natural look. I have medium-toned skin, but I wanted something a little deeper and bronzer…and was recommended by one of the staff advisors to get the “Golden Abyss” bronzer as well as “Tingleation” accelerator. Both complemented each other and worked out perfectly—giving me not too rich of a tan, but a fresh natural golden look that my friends definitely did not question. Not to mention the process was so quick, easy, and affordable…ideal for a San Diego student!

Last weekend was my school's Winter Formal, and my friends and I decided on getting tans at Hollywood Tans a couple days before the dance. We didn't have much time to do the 4-5 session tans so we did the mystic tan, which was super weird. The booth was kind of like a spaceship and there was an automated voice inside that would tell you what to do. You had to move around to get an even tan, but it was totally worth it in the end. We all came out looking glamorous, but natural at the same time, which was a definite plus.
