The new San Diego Halcyon Aveda is La Jolla's latest salon craze, and it fits perfectly into the upscale Bird Rock streets of boutiques, spas, and restaurants. The scents of fragrant plant and flower products reach you before you even enter the salon and once inside, it is hard to not want to buy the entire line of Aveda products on the spot. Halcyon offers hair cuts, coloring and styling as well as a “hair spa” treatment which helps repair dull and damaged locks with moisture treatments and even comes with the option of a mini massage. Alongside great hair care, Halcyon Aveda also pledges themselves to help protect the environment and stay involved in the local community they are apart of. Fittingly named after the calming, yet powerful Halcyon bird, this salon will be sure to give you a revitalizing hair treatment in their serene and beautiful setting. The La Jolla Halcyon Aveda Salon now fills the Bird Rock location of the former Blue - The Salon.

Added 08/11/09 Bad Hair Cut

Back in June I went to this salon thinking that there would be no way that I would get a bad hair cut, since it was in La Jolla. Well I was very wrong I was looking forward for a long time to getting my long hair cut short (up to my shoulders). I brought a picture and everything. My stylist was Carolina she seemed to know what she was talking about. Well I was wrong. At the end I was very disappointed how she gave me a short crappy Bob hair cut all of that for nothing, nothing like the picture i had brought to her. She was NOT a good Stylist at all. She said she would make up for it, when i grew out my hair and come back. I was like your crazy your not good at all. Until now I'm still upset of the crappy job she did just waiting for my hair to grow out. )=
