Shades of Bettie in La Jolla introduces a classic style with a new twist. This specialty clothing and accessory boutique in downtown La Jolla carries new vintage styles ranging from ‘40s and ‘50s inspired pinup dresses to rockabilly to tattoo artistry clothing. Shades of Bettie is an edgy boutique with a classic base and carries alternative designers and styles not sold elsewhere in San Diego. Customer favorites include the diverse retro dresses and pencil skirts as well as the sport tattoo shirts. Also new for summer are retro 1940s styled one piece bathing suits and summer dresses. Owner Ashley Smithey is inspired by the Bettie Page era and shares her many shades at her new La Jolla boutique.
