H & M
Known as the “Ikea of fashion,” this Swedish Mecca of cheap fashion is finally entering the San Diego market at the Fashion Valley Mall. H&M specializes in cute, yet comfy clothes for hipsters. The men’s department ranges from skater tees and jeans to suits and polos. The women’s section is even broader, offering simple tank tops all the way to couture dresses designed by Madonna. Prices are consistently cheap though, generally varying from $10-$20 a top, $20-$40 for pants and $20-$50 for dresses.
Aside from offering cute clothes for good prices, H&M boasts high ethical standards in the creation and distribution of their clothes. They are always seeking fair wages for the workers who make their duds. Frequently offer lines such as “Fashion Against Aids” whereby 25% of all sales will be donated to HIV prevention projects throughout the world.
