Buffalo Exchange is the most creative place to carve out a wardrobe in all of San Diego. Only a fourth of their stock is comprised of new items. The rest are second-hand pieces customers sold to the store. However, you’ll neither find nor sell any baggy, saggy, thrift-store jokes here. All apparel is carefully selected by style-trained staff, and many people who come in with boxes of items are disappointed when the buyers find nothing of interest. But the store’s pickiness provides for a fantastic shopping haven for the funky and not-so funky, filled with unique items ranging from vintage finds to rare designer pieces, jeans and skirts, hats and dresses, shoes and jewelry. Because Buffalo clothing is above thrift-store quality, you won’t find thrift store prices here either, although you’ll still pay much less for a dress than you would if it were new.
