A zócalo is the traditional core of many Mexican towns, a park-like gathering place that serves as a social center for the town’s citizens. Fittingly, Old Town’s Zocalo Grill serves as one of the community’s favorite places to converge over delicious cuisine in eye-catching surroundings. Dishes diverge from typical Mexican fare, but are consistently excellent.
Salubrious starters are the artichoke fritters with spicy tomato dipping sauce, the pepita-crusted crab risotto cakes, and the lollipop fire wings served with cooling buttermilk sauce. Entrees range from mole-rubbed steak to gazpacho salad. Desserts, like the Oregon blueberry and pear crostata, the chocolate crème brûlée, and the passion fruit panna cotta, are devilishly divine.
