Editorial Review of
Zensei Sushi
Zensei Sushi promotes the ideology that great dining is more than just a meal—it can be a party, too. Hip, young sushi-supporters flock to this North Park Japanese joint, which features an extensive menu that’s not all rolls and sashimi. Recommended: Bomb-Bombs, which are tempura-fried, stuffed shitake mushrooms; and the Firecrackers, which are battered jalapenos stuffed with crab and cream cheese. Rolls range from the mundane to the revolutionary, like the enormous Yellow Submarine, the cheery Party Roll, and the lovely Stuffed Tomatoes. Here’s a place where sushi chefs know what they’re doing, without overcharging.
