Leave it to a Pacific
Beach restaurant to take the intimidation out of a sometimes scary
cuisine. At Zen 5, the atmosphere is as
laid-back as the beach, the service as friendly as your neighborhood bar, and
the background music as reggae as Mr. Marley himself.
Locals delight in the Da Kine roll (shrimp crunch with spicy
tuna on top) and the experimental Tropical roll (shrimp tempura, tuna, salmon,
yellowtail, crab, and mango, wrapped in cucumber, sans rice).
Most likely there will be a wait at this hot spot, but when
you’re listening to the Wailers and fantasizing about your upcoming Wake n’
Bake roll (spicy crab, avocado, and eel) nothing else really matters, does it?
