Zanzibar is a little café in the heart of Pacific Beach, with a large and loyal clientele.  With a crisp and elegant interior, Zanzibar welcomes you from the moment you cross the threshold.  The food and the service, however, will bring you back for more.

 

The most popular seats in the coffee house are right along the front windows, which offer a spectacular people-watching vantage point, or in the back of the café in the bougainvillea-covered patio.

 

As a friendly warning, the restaurant can get packed on the weekends and most breakfast orders will take at least half an hour, but the crowd is proof that the food is well worth the wait.

Daily, I went to the Zanzibar Coffeehouse and Cafe for over fifteen years. The coffee is great and the menu is very extensive and unique. The people are friendly and everyone is having a good time.

Added 09/01/07 Zanzibar is my mecca!

For the last 6 years, my daily coffee fix has been supplied by Zanzibar in Pacific Beach. Their menu is so good, you won’t believe it! The Smoked Chicken Sandwich and Brie Quesadilla are….indescribable. The sidewalk tables are perfect for a caffeine-fix and a little sunshine. Parking is an issue because of the location, but you can not beat the people watching!
