Open for nearly two decades, Vigilucci’s Trattoria with it's largely Italian staff is not only a favorite among locals, but also Italians across the county who liken the fare to that served in Italy. A favorite among locals is our dog friendly patio, a great place to watch the vibrant downtown Encinitas.

Try pasta dishes such as Tagliatelle alla Bolognese with homemade fettuccine-style noodles sautéed with Vigilucci’s own meat sauce made with chicken, pork and beef; or the Pappardelle con Funghi Porcini e Gamberi with homemade wide ribbon pasta with porcini, shiitake, portobello, field mushrooms and shrimp in a white truffle and brandy cream sauce.

For dessert, consider the Torta Della Nonna, a fragrant short pastry filled with lemon cream and topped with pine nuts; the Tortino al Cioccolato, a mini chocolate cake served warm with vanilla gelato and fresh raspberry sauce; or the Tartufo al Caffe, chocolate truffle ice cream drowned in espresso coffee and Grand Marnier.
