Editorial Review: (View User Reviews)

The Mission has a mission that’s so deliciously simple, it’s a wonder more restaurants don’t follow its lead. The owners are dedicated to the cause of "living in a more conscientious world", and the café expands upon this by serving affordable, healthy food that’s as visually appealing as it is flavorful, all in a pleasantly decorated interior. Offerings seem familiar at first glance, but all are augmented with tasty twists. Some of the best breakfasts in town can be found in both the North Park and Mission Beach locations, like cornmeal pancakes, toasted granola with honey and fresh fruit, and poached eggs with grilled zucchini.

Lunchtime is for loungers, as mouthwatering entrees like grilled shrimp in a roma wrap, ginger sesame tofu with crunchy brown rice, and chicken pesto quesadillas won’t have you rushing out anytime soon. Because crowds tend to congregate on weekends, the best time to try the Mission out is during a weekday lunch hour.
