The Hopping Pig
The Hopping Pig in Gaslamp is a gastropub with great craft local beers on draft and great diversity of bottled beers, and inexpensive but flavorful fare. Try menu items such as the the Pulled Pork Belly Sliders with brandied apple coleslaw; the Bacon Blue Cheese Bruschetta, with bacon, tomato, blue cheese, and toasted baguette; the Hopping Pig Burger, made with a signature mix of pork and beef, cognac mushrooms, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, roasted bell pepper aioli; the Gouda Burger, made with fried egg, shaved onion rings, house made barbeque glaze; the Braised Short Rib, with merlot reduction, horseradish cream, and bacon chive polenta; and the Roasted Sage Brick Chicken, served with market vegetables, potato herb au gratin, and rosemary pan jus. Thirsty? Draft beers include Guinness, Ballast Point, Green flash, Stone, Duval, Lost Abbey, Julian Hard cider and many more. Try a signature beer cocktail such as the Lager & Lime Shandy, made with Henineken, 7up and splash of lime juice, or the Royal Snakebite, with hard cider, lager and a splash of Chambord.
