Added 01/15/09 Quick service and great food

I stumbled upon Great American Grill last weekend after a day at the beach and I’m very satisfied with the experience. After restaurant hopping for about 15 minutes I finally found a place with virtually no wait to be seated. The meal was served quickly and after my dinner I had a chance to relax and unwind without being shooed away for the next customers.

Added 01/13/09 Refreshing change of pace from typical Del Mar dining

I live in Los Angeles but am down in San Diego often for business. I usually stay in Del Mar and so I’ve tried a bunch of Del Mar restaurants. While it’s always fun and good food, the atmosphere is pretty pretentious most of the time. I found Great American Grill on my last stay in SD and it was such a refreshing change of scenery. The atmosphere was simple but nice and the food was great. Because it wasn’t too busy, the chef even came out to meet me at my table.
