Taco Surf is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant that specializes in fast, easy Mexican cuisine. There isn't a whole lot to the interior of the place--a counter for ordering, picnic style tables for eating, and sweet surfboards as decoration. Yet, Taco Surf remains a great place for tasty tacos, burritos, and fajitas. The friendly staff encourages you to deviate from the status quo, though, and choose your own topping. Hash browns in the California burrito is a local favorite.

 

Authentic as anything found south of the border, Taco Surf never takes itself too seriously and welcomes all walks of life off the Pacific Beach boardwalk. Surfers and college students rub elbows as salsa bottles exchange hands. But don't hit up Taco Surf for cerveza--BYOB on the sly if you must; Surf Taco only serves sodas at the counter.
