Sushi on the Rock

In a city that certainly has no shortage of sushi selections, Sushi on the Rock is a uplifting break from the mold. Although the sushi chefs prepare all the typical rolls you’d expect, like California rolls, rainbow rolls, and 911 rolls, it’s the creatively fused choices that are the real draw. The Rainbow Warrior is a beautifully assembled roll, with multi-colored julienned vegetables. The Incredible Hulk is an amusing green-lipped muscle roll in a crab cream sauce. In the name of the city’s southerly neighbors, the Barrio Roll is made from tuna, cilantro and serrano chili and served with fresh salsa. Beyond rolls, try the Monkey Balls, a stuffed mushroom appetizer, and sweetened fried bananas, or a macadamia-crusted berry tart, for dessert.
