Once upon a time, sushi was only for the brave and the loaded. Not anymore – Sushi Deli has changed the face of San Diego sushi, making it ridiculously affordable, easily order-able, and of course, enjoyable. With Sushi Deli One now in Hillcrest, Sushi Deli Too takes over the Downtown responsibilities. Both locations offer happy hour specials, cheap sushi, and friendly service, but neither take reservations, so be prepared for a substantial wait.
This is definitely the best sushi for the price in San Diego! The most expensive roll is $6.50. The Peter roll is one of my faves, but everything I've tried is great. It's not your typical Japanese sushi, it's more of a californian twist on sushi, but it's great classic tastes :)
Went there with a couple of co-workers for lunch and had a great time. I'm not big on sushi, but they had a beef yakisoba that was just right. We all drank a couple of Heinekens and went back to work pretty ripped. Their edamame was the perfect appetizer.
