Station Sushi Bird Rock
From the creators of the Solana Beach Station Sushi comes Bird Rock Station Sushi, the same big menu and mellow ambiance with a new full bar and nightlife attitude. Bird Rock is home to a modest restaurant row of fine eateries scattered between upscale clothing boutiques, but Station Sushi is guaranteed to transform the PG vibe come spring and summer 2008.
A roomy outdoor patio with bumping speakers will be the top spot for happy hour after a long day on the WindnSea sand and the indoor dining room packed with black tables and shimmering gold and deep red Asian décor is bound to get rowdy in true Solana Beach style. A long black bar takes up the majority of the right wall, offering guests a full bar selection with specialty cocktails alongside sake and tap beer staples. To your left is the sushi bar with a brightly lit fish tank near the window-side table section. If you’ve been to the Solana Station you know the full bar is the one element missing from the party atmosphere. The problem is solved in Bird Rock, and many more additions are coming throughout 2008. Expect the launch of a VIP section with a personal server, private entrance, personalized entertainment system, and much more.
Now for a taste: you don’t want to miss the Psychedelic Orange Crush roll with salmon, asparagus, avocado, gobo root, and orange flying fish eggs, or the Mary-Juana Ocean roll with spicy tuna, crab, avocado, smoked and fresh salmon, in a tempura crisp. Signature Station rolls are best with a happy hour Pomegranate Martini ($4.25) or a happy hour pint of draft beer ($3.25) paired with a large hot sake ($3.75).
