Hailing from Chicago, Richard Walker's Pancake House brings the secrets of speedy business and perfect pancakes to San Diego, accompanied by a long list of Dutch babies, waffles, and omelets. The pancakes, though, are the reason to endure the weekend brunch line and the cozy seating. Try out the Raisin Pecan pancakes dusted in cinnamon sugar, or opt for a stack slathered in strawberries or freshly baked apples. Each comes with hot syrup and house-whipped butter for perfect flavor.

Every time I see this place there's a line out the door for seating. My curiosity got the best of me and I decided to bring my girlfriend here for breakfast. We waited in line for a few minutes, the staff worked hard to make the wait as short as possible. The menu had a great selection of breakfast dishes as well as a few lunch items. I ordered the hash and eggs dish. It came out much faster than I anticipated and was perfectly cooked the way I like it. The prices were reasonable and the portions were huge...we both ended up taking leftovers home. All in all, a great place for breakfast. It's worth all the hype and the brief wait for a table.
Conclusion

Possibly the best breakfast in town.

well worth the wait.

I too had to wait in line to grab breakfast in the morning. It was nice that the waitress came out to hand us menus. The food was delicious and the coffee was great. Its like a hot date; well worth the wait.

After looking at the photo of the apple pancake while waiting in line last Saturday morning, I couldn’t even think of ordering anything else. And, PS the line really doesn’t take that long – and it lets you study the menu before you sit down. The “Walker’s Apple Pancake” arrived looking just as delicious as it appeared in the pictures. Every bite of this huge apple-cinnamon pancake made me a believer that it the infamous Richard Walker line is always worth the wait. Though, I must warn pancake lovers that the apple dish is way more apple than actual pancake, as the actual dough is pretty thin, and the fresh cinnamon topped apples steal the taste. This is not a bad thing. The staff was very friendly and always kept my coffee full.
Conclusion

Everyone exaggerates about the line... just go for it, it's worth the wait!

I recently checked out the new Richard Walker's Pancake House in downtown San Diego and it was just what San Diego has been needing! It's a breakfast lovers' heaven. The menu had every kind of breakfast dish you could think of. It is a gourmet upscale restaurant that has a comfortable and classy atmosphere. My server was a doll too. The only thing is that it closes in the early afternoon so you must go early if you want to enjoy.
Conclusion

Richard Walker's Pancake House is a great breakfast place in San Diego. There's nothing quite like it with its classiness and comfortability with good food and servers.
