Not only is Stingaree San Diego’s finest nightclub, the landmark venue is also home to fine dining in a swanky setting. Before you begin your bottle service, fill up on gourmet bites from the Restaurant at Stingaree. Executive Chef Antonio Friscia combines ingredients from around the world with fresh produce from local vendors, such as Via De La Valle, California's Chino Farms, to create a hybrid of cuisines. His tempting creations include Chino Farms green garlic and porcini bisque with roasted garlic croutons and truffle oil, as well as pork loin chops from Marin County's Niman Ranch with a calvados demi-glace and caramelized pink lady apples. The trained wait staff will serve you with efficiency, while guiding you expertly through the menu. The Restaurant at Stingaree serves Tuesday through Saturday from 6 –10pm.

Get Stung a little earlier with Happy Hour, featuring a half-priced lounge menu, half-priced signature cocktails, half-priced wine by the glass, and $5 wells, $3 bottles and drafts: Tuesday - Friday 5-8pm, Thursday extended 5-10pm.

The curb-side booths are perfect for people watching, and it’s a beautiful thing when people are starting to line up for the club, while you’re already inside drinking a Happy Hour martini and relaxing in the comfort of knowing there’s no line and no cover to head upstairs to the nightclub after dinner. I was honestly very surprised at how knowledgeable the server was about everything on the menu. She recommended the caprese salad to start (which was small, but made up for size in flavor), and I had the chicken breast for dinner, which was jidori chicken with wild mushrooms and vegetables – a perfect meal to fill me up but not overstuff me before a night of dancing at the club.
Conclusion

Very fun for a Friday or Saturday night dinner date before partying on the mezz. or Sting rooftop.
