No, it’s not a club – though the trendy urbanites and the posh red and black décor that make up RA may confuse you for a minute. On a regular night, you may empty your pocket once you open the menu and start ordering all the appetizing sushi rolls, sashimi, and sake that tempt you. But with insane happy hours (including late night) and all-inclusive industry nights that bring the tab down to a more reasonable price without sacrificing quality or service, you’ll realize that RA is simply how the Gaslamp does sushi.
While there may be finer sushi joints to dine at in the greater San Diego area, few come close to Ra's atmosphere and convenient location. Located on Broadway right in the heart of downtown, Ra is ideal for a pre-go-out sushi fix. The restaurant also livens up each meal with an eclectic mix of alt-rock and hip hop that may be a tad boisterous for some, but I personally dig singing along while sipping sake and stuffing my face with nigiri.
Hosts we're rude! Waiter was good, food was okay. (I ordered the viva las vegas and they sent it to me refriderator cold, it's a warm dish!!!!
I didn't like this place much. I felt like they were trying too hard with the club-like atmosphere. The waitresses weren't too friendly either. They need to learn how to do their jobs right. I don't want attitude, I just want my food (not that it was that great either)!
