Editorial Reivew:

Phil’s BBQ has been one of San Diego’s most beloved destinations for outstanding barbeque for years. The original location in Mission Hills was so successful, a larger location was a necessary step.

The top-selling item at Phil’s is the Baby Back pork ribs; an illustrious portion of ribs smothered in a signature barbeque sauce that keeps customers returning week after week. Other main courses include the shredded beef barbeque sandwich, El Toro, The Broham Pork Sandwich, Ribless Chickles and Beef Ribs. Each meal is also accompanied by one or two sides; freshly made coleslaw, a baked potato, steamed vegetables, an ear of corn, onion rings, or the world famous fries.

Every meal is made with superior quality and bathed in Phil’s signature barbeque sauce.  Even when there is a line out the door, your food will come quickly and you’ll enjoy an irresistible serving of top-notch barbeque. Additional benefits at Phil’s include catering, great prices, and family style setting. Soon Phil’s will transform an adjacent building into a new special events room.

Best Meals in San Diego

My family's favorite place is Phil's barbeque. The new location is so awesome. It's even more accomodating because of it's size. The customer service is excellent and the food is phenomenal. Cooked quickly, cooked thoroughly, cooked perfectly. I highly reccomend Phil's BBQ on Sports Arena Blvd.

Phil up on good stuff

Phil's BBQ is the best BBQ I've ever eaten. Their sauce is sooo good. I had the ribless and chikless meal because I don't like to get dirty and this meal has no bones. The best time to go is during the week to avoid the long lines, and if someone is visiting you from out of town, be sure to take them to Phil's BBQ--They'll be sure to come back soon.

great ribs at phil's

my boyfriend told me phil's ribs were world-famous or something but i'd never heard of them. he took me there last week for lunch and we got two rib sandwiches which were delicious. the downside was that we had to wait a really long time for seats, and this was like 3 in th eafternoon! next time we'll have to order like two rack of ribs to make up for the wait.

Phil's BBQ can't be beat!

It may not be located in the heart of Kansas City, but Phil's BBQ is about as close to BBQ brilliance as one can find in Southern California - and even in regions beyond. Their pulled pork sandwich is to die for, and their ribs and chicken are second to none. Side dishes are, well... simply side dishes; as the meat is the main attraction. There's always a line, but the employees take care of each customer quickly and efficiently, so wait times are generally minimal. Getting a table, however, is another matter entirely; and if it's a Friday or Saturday night, you're better off calling in your order and picking it up. Enjoying the deliciousness from home is a tactic I've employed many times myself.

Phil's BBQ in Point Loma...is a must

My roommate's and I make it a point to eat at Phil's if we're ever in the area. The lines are long, but the food is fast. The sauce is incredible...i could pour it on everything. most people go for the ribs, but i get the tri-tip sandwhich every time.

Food is woth the wait

We've visited Phils in there old location in Hill Crest and a few times at there Pt. Loma location. The food has always been good, the service has gotton better and when you get your food it is worth the wait. And seating is available inside and outside.
