While walking in the Gaslamp District, Osteria Panevino is one of those restaurants that always makes you stop, peer inside at the food and make a mental note to return as soon as possible. Whether it is the fact that the restaurant is always full of people laughing, the warm and comforting environment or the aroma of Tuscan-inspired dishes that draws you in, Osteria Panevino has become known as home to some of the best Italian food in the area. Executive Chef Giorgio Lo Verde has generated a lot of buzz around his crab cakes, crab and lobster stuffed ravioli, baked mussels and rosemary lamb chops that fall off the bones. In staying true to Italian traditions, Lo Verde serves large portions of pasta, oven-baked pizza and succulent seafood. Creating an inviting and relaxing ambience, the restaurant boasts a large brick oven, old-fashioned wooden bar and various Italian-inspired paintings along its walls. It also has outdoor seating along its patio, making the most of San Diego's nearly perfect weather.
