At Onami, a Japanese seafood buffet located in Mission Valley, you’ll find an overwhelming selection of seafood that changes daily. The basics, however, are available every day. Find a table, pick up your plate, and start your Japanese journey down the buffet line. Hot dishes include chicken teriyaki, yakisoba, spring rolls, and gyoza.  For something lighter, venture towards the salads, where Onami offers soba noodles, shrimp salad, Asian coleslaw, and their version of the Koren Kim Chi cabbage salad. You’ll even find sushi here – everything from hand rolls and nigiri sushi to maki (thin sushi rolls) and futomaki (thick rolls). There is also a wealth of different rolls available to customers, so don’t be afraid to make several trips and take total advantage of the opportunity. Onami also makes sure to constantly check on how fresh their sushi is, committing themselves to the quality of their food regardless of the buffet setup. The quality here is largely unparalleled by similar Japanese buffets. The quality of food and overall value of Onami makes it incomparable to most surrounding establishments. Even entree options like lobster and salmon occasionally make their way to the buffet line, giving guests a gourmet taste of seafood usually reserved for a white tablecloth experience. Onami also makes use of  their open bar, serving strong drinks to their patrons. A few of their cocktails or a shared glass of sake makes for the perfect way to prepare to hit the buffet lineup It is clear why Onami’s signature setup  has become largely successful in San Diego.

If your looking to stuff your face with sushi you have found it. By far it is not my favorite sushi ever but sometimes its nice to go there and just stuff your face with a variety of surprisingly good buffet food.

This is a pretty average sit-down experience. The meal still ended up memorable due largely in part to our entertaining waitress. Still, I have had better Sushi for cheaper elsewhere.

Two words...Japanese buffet. If you love Japanese food or you food in general, Onami in Mission Valley has it all. The interior is very simple and inviting. The food selection is large...because well, it IS a buffet. The drink servers are very friendly and prompt. Seating covers the smallest to largest of parties.

The favorite one

I went to onami twice . I enjoyed the dinner very much. The taste of food was great and also I liked the atmosphere . lay out looked very friendly. And easy to try to all kinds of foods so I can recommend to all of my friends. if there are new menu sure I would like to try. And do you have happy hour ?
