Mimmo’s Italian Village caters to every visitor, no matter how much time he or she has to spare. Only ten minutes? Grab a specialty sandwich from the deli, with ingredients like baked eggplant, provolone, pepperoni, and dry salami, or a fresh and comprehensive salad. Half an hour? Order a cappuccino and take it to the warm outdoor patio. An hour or two? Make it a meal in Mimmo’s sit-down restaurant, the spitting-image of a Venetian street. Every Italian favorite is available, and the fare tastes even better beside the restaurant’s cheerfully-painted frescoes. Numerous grocery items are also set out for purchase, so diners can attempt to recreate dishes in their own dwellings.
I couldnt handle the little manager. She was so rude to the servers, and to the costmers. The girl looked like a man wth fake boobs. food tasted old.
My husband, daughter, and I dinned at Mimmo's the other night and had a wonderful meal. We were seated outside, which was very enjoyable with people from every where coming out with their families and pets to enjoy the summer evening. We started off with the Prosciutto Pomodora, which is Buffalo mozzarella cheese wrapped with prosciutto and then topped with thinly sliced tomatoes, and a Ceasar Salad. My husband and I are wine drinkers so we ordered Castello Di Monsastero, Sangiovese 06. Toscana. My daughter ordered for her main course the spaghetti and meatballs, while my husband and I shared the gnochie with pink sauce.
The lobster ravioli was just OK. The spicy shrimp linguine was cooked until it was goo. The lobster bisque was very good. Service was painfully slow. With all the good restaurants around in Little Italy it is a shame that Mimmo's Italian Village, with all it's decorative charm and ambiance, lacks quality food and service.
