Editorial Review of Knotty Barrel

A new gastropub in East Village, The Knotty Barrel’s menu features some solid starters to accompany their palatable drinks. You can’t leave without trying their Parmesan Truffle Fries or Battered Jalapenos & Baby Artichokes, which have gained acclaim amongst new fans. Move past the appetizers and into a hearty bite with one of the much-loved salmon burgers, the Bison Burger or the signature Knotty Burger, all irresistibly mouth-watering. Looking for fresh greens to munch on? Fear Knot, healthy eaters and vegetarians alike. Feast yours eyes on the Ahi Salad and Cape Cod Chopped Salad, or a creative Beet Salad with goat cheese, toasted walnuts, and aged bourbon vinaigrette. Save room for some of the Knotty pleasures that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Pick your choice from the acclaimed Deep Fried Twinkies, Housemade Truffles, or Green Apple Sauvignon Blanc Sorbet, all one-of-a-kind creations that cap off the menu at Knotty Barrel.

With their local taps supporting San Diego craft breweries, Knotty Barrel takes pride in their expansive list of unique brews. Take a swig of the Green Flash Trippel Belgian Style Ale from Vista or the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA from San Diego, or the Stone Ruination IPA from Escondido. Knotty Barrel also features specialty drinks like the Gin Fizz with Hendrink’s Gin, St. Germain, lemon juice, egg whites, and club soda. If there’s a beer or flavor you’ve always wanted to try, the Knotty Barrel has something for you to sip on the next time you come in.

Added 06/08/11 Ahi Fish Tacos

Dropped in for a quick lunch, sat at the outside bar window and ordered the Ahi Fish Tacos. So good! Plus they brew their Iced Tea; can't stand tea from the fountain...just ain't the same! Can't wait to get back in for some beers and try the dinner menu!
