Atmosphere is great; wait staff was teriffic

We feel bad in reporting that although the waiter was great and the cozy atmosphere nice on a cold night, the food didn't live up to expectation. The appetizer and salad were good, but the main courses were over cooked, dry and not flavorful. The waiter served the wine and food with great attention, added a slice of BD cake, just disappointed in the entres.
Conclusion
We celebrated a birthday here, and the waiter was teriffic as was the cozy atmosphere. The traditional German dishes; however, were ovecooked, dry and didn't have much flavor. The appetizer and salad were good. We would not go back; however, guess we'll cook German at home.
RudeAlthough the food and beer was okay, the service was not, especially the rude guy who seemed to be running it that night. He may have owned it for all I know, but I can't imagine anyone owning a place and acting that dumb, petty, and abusive to people who were spending money; you know, customers?! I let it go out of respect for the people I was with, since I was their guest and they live there. I doubt they ever went back, and I certainly wouldn't.Posted on: 5/14/2008 By robert
