Operated by students of spiritual master Sri Chinmoy, Jyoti Bihanga has become the longest running of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in San Diego. Diners will enjoy a variety of authentic vegetarian and vegan meals at affordable prices. Sandwiches are served on organic 9-grain bread or buns, with mock meats such as duck and bacon. Entrees include the best-selling “Neatloaf” - which blends together brown rice, grains, eggs, ricotta cheese, tofu, spices, topped with a tangy tomato-based sauce to create an ultimate vegetarian alternative to Meatloaf. Patrons can also opt for Vegan Grilled Portabello and Turkey Avocado wraps - made with soy turkey, of course. Make room for dessert, which features Vegan Chocolate Mouse Cake using all natural sweeteners and ingredients, as well as a large slice of Vegan Apple Pie that can be made a la mode to top off the dining experience.
