JRDN restaurant, names after the owner’s father Jordan, is the crux of Pacific Beach’s hippest new hotel, Tower23. The stylish spot would seem much more fitting in the Gaslamp, if it weren’t for the sleek sea-themes present throughout the interior. Most noteworthy is the vast "wave wall", which reflects the sunset in the evening and vacillates in symphonic colors by night.
Dinner is comprised of locally-produced produce and seafood harvested by sustainable methods, and is creative and satisfying, with dishes like seafood ravioli in curry broth, swordfish steak, and lobster bisque. Patrons usually prefer an entrée from the "burning up" list, where they must select a cut, a rub, a sauce, and two sides, such as the marrow and cheese "mac" or the crispy Maui onion rings.
My boyfriend and I ate here this weekend. We had the most delicious meal. It is not inexpesnive but the great ocean views, delicous cuisine and attentive service make it well worth price. I started with the arugula salad - literally the best salad I have ever eaten, followed the braised short ribs and the cheesecake. Every single bite was amazing.
