Editorial Review of
Jaynes Gastropub
Relaxed, comfortable, classic, perfectly-paced meals, extremely friendly service and incredible drinks are just a few ways to describe Jayne’s Gastropub. This place is most definitely not your average pub. The tile floor, English vibe, awesome location and interior are all beautiful. Fresh flowers and candles top all the tables which add to the cozy environment. The real treat in eating at this gastropub is eating in the little outdoor garden in the back. It really sets the mood for a relaxing, delicious meal. The kitchen is even viewable from the bar, so you can watch the cooks work their magic on some nice looking equipment. Jayne’s serves juicy burgers and a petite yet unique menu featuring signature items such as Lamb Shepherd’s Pie, Pecan Crusted Albacore Tuna, and Butterscotch Crème Brulee for dessert. The British term “gastropub” means an eatery that’s a step above a pub. On tap, Jayne serves a more eclectic choice of beers than your normal pub in San Diego. Missing is your Buds, Coors, and Millers; replaced with Newcastles, Hitachinos, and Fat Tires. While this restaurant has good food, it still seems to have that "pub" soul where the point is to relax, have a drink, and chat with friends. Guests are welcomed to relax and take time to enjoy their foods and drinks. With helpful and friendly waiters and bartenders, you will definitely want to stay forever. Check it out because there is definitely something different going on here, and you don’t want to miss out.
