Located amidst the smorgasbord of boutiques and bars on Garnet Avenue, Hoboken is a locally praised Sicilian-style pizza joint that serves up a hearty selection of cheesy East Coast treats and frothy craft brews. Specialty pizzas include the Hot Maggie’s, made with Hoboken’s special red sauce with red wine, fresh garlic, hot peppers, a pinch of oregano, Parmigianino, and mozzarella; the Uncle Tom’s Barbecue Chicken, made with grilled chicken, red onions, mozzarella and Uncle Tom’s homemade Memphis BBQ sauce; the Mr. Pesto, made with ricotta cheese, freshly sliced tomatoes, fresh olive oil, garlic, mozzarella, and Hoboken’s special Pesto sauce; or the Bower Boys, made with wild mushrooms, roasted peppers, onions, sausage, and pepperoni. If you want something a little heartier, opt for the Calzone and stuff it with fresh toppings such as green bell peppers, red onions, sausage, jalapenos, roasted red peppers, pepperoni, salami, pesto, artichoke, basil, peperoncinis, broccoli, spinach, fresh tomatoes, ham, garlic, black olives, pineapple, or mushrooms.
