Fidels Little Mexico
Owned and operated by the Montanez family for over 45 years, Fidel’s Little Mexico is a sprawling, hacienda-style Mexican restaurant tucked away in a secluded Solana Beach neighborhood. Able to seat over 350 people on three different levels including a festive courtyard, Fidel’s expansive menu offers traditional favorites as well as house specialties that will transport you and your party South of the Border. Mouth-watering appetizers at Fidel’s include flautas, nachos, and cheese crisps, but for that little extra zing, try a plate of the jalapeño poppers (deep fried, lightly breaded jalapeño peppers filled with your choice of cheddar or cream cheese). From the list of entrées (ranging in price from $9-16), popular favorites include the tostada suprema, chicken burrito, carnitas (chunks of lean pork served with frijoles de la alla and tortillas), chile rellenos (made from a treasured family recipe), and the spicy, but flavorful crab enchiladas.
