Editorial Review of
East Village Asian Diner
East Village Asian Diner looks as if someone uprooted it from North Park with a little help from a multi-color robot crew armed with chopsticks and secret-weapon sake-filled water balloons. Super casual and industrial on the inside, East Village’s understated and exposed ceiling may be downtown’s last year’s news, but it’s a new trend for Encinitas that seems to mesh perfectly with the chill surfer vibe. On the menu is certified fresh and flavorful Asian comfort food, featuring a variety of dishes from Japan, Korea, and China. Choose from starters, salads, wraps, and over ten main entrée meals, including the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, Chinese Chicken & Broccoli, Grilled Korean Short Ribs, and Kung Poa Shrimp with broccoli, young corn, bell peppers, Japanese chili, and rice.
