Most exciting in burger news is the opening of the all new Hodad’s in downtown San Diego. Just in time for the Padres Home Opener on Tuesday, April 5, Hodad’s will open doors to hungry baseball fans who just won’t settle for a hot dog while in the midst of this profound hamburger revolution. The original Hodad’s was located literally on the beach at the end of Santa Monica Ave. in Ocean Beach, and today you can find the same Hodad’s taste at the revamped O.B. location on Newport Ave., run by second generation “Burgermeister” Mike Hardin and long time friend Teri Rhodes. A Hodad’s favorite, TV personality Guy Fieri’s namesake is “The Guido” topped with fried pastami, swiss cheese and caramelized onions. The new downtown Hodad’s will offer the same lived-in O.B. vibe, but with a kitchen that is double the size. What that means for you? More burgers!
