Del Mar may be best known for its ocean views and surf and turf entrees at varying seaside restaurants, but North County diners should not miss Del Mar Rendezvous, the fine China Bistro on Camino Del Mar. For lunch or dinner, guests enjoy tapas, entrees, or dishes with wine and dessert. The tapas menu offers crabmeat mango salad, chicken lettuce wraps, firecracker calamari salad, and more. For your entrée, choose the scallop and shrimp sauté, kung pao fish filet, cashew chicken with plum sauce, or black pepper steak among others. The signature dishes range from soups to wokery noodles, chow fun, vermicelli, and rice selections, such as the popular Singapore Chow Mai Fun with thin rice vermicelli sautéed with barbeque pork, shrimp, onion, and bean sprout in mild curry. Enjoy a vast wine list ranging in bottle price from $22 to $160, and you must try the caramelized banana cheese xango for dessert. Domestic and imported bottled beers and gourmet coffee and teas are also offered.

By far the best Chinese restuarant for gluten free meals. We were vacationing from Chicago and wish we had a similar restaurant locally.

Living in Del Mar, we are frequent patrons of many of the local restaurants and we are very pleased to have Rendezvous here in the Del Mar Plaza.
