Curry House
Curry House is a family style restaurant in Clairemont that specializes in Japanese Curry, the East Asian take on the infamous pungent Indian dish. Since its founding in 1983, Curry House has gained popularity throughout the Los Angeles area and most recently in San Diego, for being the authority on Japan's rich, peppery curry base.
The interior is clean and brightly lit. Cute, friendly waitresses never fail to provide cheery service despite the constant flurry of customers Curry House always attracts. Although only one curry base is available, there is a whole host of add-ins, such as deep fried katsu pork or menchi steak, even shrimp or squid, to redefine your curry experience every time. If you're not in the mood for curry, Curry House also showcases an array of distinctive Japanese style spaghetti. The Kinoko and Kaiware Spaghetti dish, for example, is a concoction of mushroom and sprouts lightly tossed with soy sauce and caramelized onions.
