Craftsman New American Tavern
North County locals adore Blue Ribbon, the quaint artisan pizza-centric restaurant located within the Lumberyard Shopping Centre in Encinitas. Chef-owner Wade Hageman, formerly of the fine dining Blanca in Solana Beach, struck culinary gold with his farm-to-table take on pizza, paired with fresh appetizers and addictive desserts at Blue Ribbon. And now, Hageman has expanded to open his second restaurant, also in Encinitas. At Craftsman New American Tavern, Hageman emphasizes comfort food, from home-made sausages and charcuterie, to free-range chicken, short ribs and mac ‘n cheese. Expect a warm atmosphere, craft beer and classic cocktails.
Start with the Duck Fat Fries with Black Garlic Aioli Ketchup or Heirloom Black Seed Popcorn with Black Truffle Salt. Plates feature hits such as the Merlot Braised Short Ribs, Colorado Lamb Sirloin, Porcini Crusted Pacific Cod or a Berkshire Pork Porchetta.
