Buon Appetito prides itself on showcasing beautiful art while serving their customers delicious Italian-style cuisine. Inspired by local restaurants in Encinitas and Hillcrest, Buon Appetito seeks to create a San Francisco style dining experience to the heart of San Diego. Located in Little Italy, Buon Appetito is a well rounded experience. Try the Burrata (a layer of fresh mozzarella served over a slightly warmed on a bed of sautéed spinach with seasoned oven-roasted tomatoes) if you are looking for something lighter. Some menu specials even change daily, depending on local selection and market prices. However, if you are feeling adventurous try the Coniglio alla Mamma Pina (rabbit braised in white wine with green olives, carrots, celery and onions served on a bed of fettuccine), a real authentic Italian meal. Wash it down with a glass of your favorite red or white wine from their impressive wine list. This original Italian restaurant also exhibits local San Diego art on their wall on a rotating, bi-monthly schedule. This is done to offer customers a change of scenery and, of course, to promote the thriving local art community. It's great Italian food! If you feel like eating fettucini, spaghetti, or seafood pasta. Little Italy has great choices of restaurants.

Added 12/10/09 One of my most favorite restaraunts in S.D.

This is one of my top 3 favorite restaraunts in SD. The food is absolutely outstanding...the service could not be better. The food and service quality are always consistant every time (many) I have been there. The wine selection is great and the ambience...seating inside or out is open, airy and comfortable. You truly feel like you are in Italy. I highly recommend it.
