A local favorite since 1979, Broken Yolk is a Pacific
Beach institution – and the weekend crowd lining up on Garnet is proof.
Broken Yolk is best known for its tantalizing and creative
omelette selection, from the classic “No Name” (bacon, avocado, tomato, and
mushrooms) to the experimental “Never On Sunday” (kalamata olives, feta cheese,
tomatoes, and onions). But Broken Yolk
offers a variety of other menu options. Whether you like your French toast
sweet (topped with strawberries and powdered sugar) or grilled with ham and
Swiss (Monte Cristo style), Broken Yolk has breakfast options for you.
The crowd thins around lunch time, but the food is still as
impressive. Try a ½ pound Patty Melt Down (a cheeseburger on rye) or the light Veggie Garden
salad.
