Opening in early September, 2008, San Diego shoppers are looking forward to the grand opening of Bing Crosby’s Restaurant and Piano Bar, a new addition to Fashion Valley’s notable entourage of upscale mall eateries. Bing Crosby’s will be located adjacent to the Cheesecake Factory, where The Crocodile Café used to be located. The new San Diego Bing Crosby’s will pay homage to Hollywood glamour of the 1930s and ‘40s, featuring a fine-dining menu and a chic piano lounge for the cocktail lover in all of us. Enjoy the sounds of classical crooner tunes playing over the speakers and relive some of Bing Crosby’s greatest songs. Crooner music can be heard Monday through Thursday and usually through the weekend while there isn’t a live performer tinkling the ivories in the piano lounge. Ask the helpful serving staff about nightly specials or for a recommendation on a dinner option, all employees are educated heavily on the menu and will always be able to point patrons in the proper direction. The signature cocktails are also worth diving into, if you are feeling up to it. If you are looking for a more inexpensive way to experience the excellence of this establishment, try coming for an early weekend lunch. The half sandwich comes with a soup and salad, making for a surprisingly filling meal at a moderately low cost. Not only will Bing Crosby provide a great new stopping point for shoppers, we predict this upscale refuge will house many boyfriends and husbands waiting patiently while their better halves hit the sales.

To be honest I haven't been there yet, but look forward to going soon to hear a favorite (living) crooner, David Patrone. He's more in the style of Sinatra than Crosby, but very enjoyable. And if the location is anything like the others (see their website), should be lovely!
